Mad world

She made the mistake of reading the list of Top Ten News Headlines. Reminded, yet again, of the insanity that surrounds us; the human beasts we are forced to co-exist with. A truth that at times, is almost too much to bear.

He left her

He left her hanging
A Monet with no River Seine
He left her barren
An open book with no pages
He left her questioning
A riddle with no answer
He left her doubting
The truth of her very existence
He left her incomplete
Energy work only half started
He left her drowning
Gasping for breath within his mire
He left her broken
To sift the pieces of her [...]

Insanity’s Final Adieu

His was a miserable life; wandering the globe pretending to be lost, feigning insanity due to all sorts of abuse; self-inflicted, youthful demons victim, to any and all who showed the slightest inclination of interest. In truth, he knew exactly where he was going, what the cost would be to get there; needing only to [...]

Processing and purging

Hearing the truth
The ugly truth
Trying hard to process
What it really means
Was always a bitter pill
But somehow easier to swallow
At least when there was something
A reason on which to blame
Delusional
Madness
Insanity
Lunacy
An innate inability
To deal
To cope
To live
To feel
A falsity I now
Am forced to ingest
For the veil has been lifted
On his façade of mental illness

Letter to Veronica No.1

Dear Veronica Lake,
The truth of us.

Ovation

She waits
Wonders
Pines
For love lost
Just as we
All did
The same
Love
The same
Lies
Differing his pain
His troubled past
To fit each
Woman
And circumstance
Depending
On what he
Needed
Or knew he could
Take from them
I offered up the
Group of support
Gathered in the
Wings
Patiently waiting
For her to
Walk off the
Stage
She isn’t yet
Ready
Still believing
He is
Who he
Says

The illusionist

He is as far removed from the mirror of her soul as one could possibly be. Having thought to have glimpsed. Seeing only those shadows she chose to reveal. Stopping long enough to gaze at his own reflection. Driven by ego and what he believed she could do for him. Unwittingly baring himself. His ragged, [...]

Wasted away

Years spent. Surrounded by his hatred. Wasted. Euphoric highs one minute, terrifying lows the next. Wondering too often if I’d make it out alive; or simply drown in the shallows of his dysfunction; his sickness; his disease. Refusing treatment, medicating with reefer; to make the world a better place.
It wasn’t the world gone wrong, but [...]

Akin

…and so I was reminded, that each of them had suffered; in various ways and to differing degrees of agony and pain. Infected with a unique version of the strand, but the same virus nonetheless…
